rob was a very well informed guy on many subjects ,,,his tale of having to leap out a miners window who came back early one night ,,,,,,,and run from whitburn down tio shields with no kecks on was hilarious that when he was at shields marine college....RIP rob.....he also confirmed my story of a jar of pickled onions with little bugs swimmin round inpeople said they couldnt live in vinigar ....that on one of hains tramps in oz....liked rob good humour but took no prisoners... cappy

well the problem was ......the potato locker was hiding three birds we had picked up in aucland ....and they had sold the tatties......but we had canary seed regular ...it was cheep...the chief steward said we had moreton bay crabs .....well i had never been to moreton bay ....thought i got mine in freo.....oh happy day

He was in the year behind me at Shields, B & C if I recall, they had quite a few guys at the college, nearly half my group were B & C.

Well the down under stuff and i'm all right jack stuff is hopefully,
working for them but, something that started in the Southern
hemisphere affects the North, the two years ago - just like flue,
