Re: Covid
Conditions being put in place here in Oz will make it very hard for the unvaccinated.
Consideration being given for children aged 5 to 11 to be given it next year.

Re: Covid
Unfortunately there is a lot of HIV in those areas, and that means a deficient immune system, therefor there will be many deaths there.

Re: Covid
Speaking with my brother in law in London last night and he told me of a talk he had heard on the radio regarding the new variant.
The speaker was a Professor, Sir John, forget the surname, and he is the worlds leading epidemriologist.
He knew of the variant as far back as Nov 2 when it was first found in Botswana.
He said it is the weakest variant to date and though infectious it is not lethal.
On National radio today a senior medico from Cape Town spoke saying she had seen a number of person with the new variant but they were showing symptoms closer to the Flu, aches and runny nose. Nothing serious.
Confirms what was told here back in May by an Australian who had for 20 plus years been involved with the Oxford AZ team. He concluded by saying they anticipated various new variants over time but within two years nothing worse than a cold with it. Each new variant comes in weaker than the previous.

Re: Covid
Weaker than the previous one has just been confirmed here by one of our scientists working on the Vaccines.
WE are no producing Moderna in our lab and he confirmed what many know, each variant has more mutations but that weakens the virus until he point where it is no worse than cold,

Re: Covid
One of the problems with this new variant, as is the case with all the other 13 before it is the media.
People rely on this for information, but what they get is the media version which is designed to scare, nothing more.
There is information available from some of the worlds top experts in this area, all you need to do is look.
Or if you have a very competent one, ask your GP.
Nothing in the media no matter who they claim it is from will be the truth.

Re: Covid
Today the WHO said,
'There is little point in being concerned about the spread of the new variant while Delta is still dominant'
Fact is this new one is number 14 in a line of them since this began. Some did not move beyond the boundries of some countries, others such as Delta and Now this one did.
Fact is we must learn to live with it in what ever form it comes.
