    Smile Queen Victoria

We recently cruised from Southampton on the Queen Victoria. We'd flown from Australia as I particularly wanted to do a Baltic cruise. The ship, the crew, the entertainment, everything about it was really excellent. As for the food..............didn't want to leave. Would highly recommend the ship and crew, just don't fly from Australia to do it. Flying back was tedious (17 Hours) and I had jet lag for a couple of weeks. Giacomin

I sailed on her sister Queen Elizabeth, in 2012 to Sydney,
Not too good, had a lot better on QE2 and QM2.
The european catering staff from eastern europe were pig ignorant, unhygenic, unhelpful.
In the LIDO restaraunt sneezing over all the food, and NOT covering themselves. I saw one who sneezed right into four coffee cups before filling them and serving.
    Dirty berstereds.
I got sick from Bad fish, and wasnt allowed ashore in Auckland two days later I was OK, even tho` I had relatives on the quay. They then charged me $75 for one injection, How bent is that?? make a passenger sick with bad food then charges him.
I have done 8 worlld cruises on QE2 and two world on QM2.
    all good,
BUT now I sail Holland America, far superior than Cunard. When they flagged out to Bermuda flag the standards fell. So I will not be sailing on them again.
When flying from or to Australia We always have a few days in Singapore, it breaks up the journey and no jet lag
    Cheers
    Brian.

Where did you fly back from? UK is a 24 hour flight.

I guess planes are now getting faster. ?
. Always break your flight. Air fare is still the same, good hotels in Singapore, so what is the problem with Jet Lag. Never had it, I fly the route every year.
    Simple.

Jet lag, in my shore jobs I was on and off planes like some were on and off buses, never suffered from jet lag, couldn't afford to when going into meetings/negotiations/accident assessment etc as soon as landing. As soon as the plane was airborne I changed my watch to the local time of my destination this prepared me mentally and I treated it as if I'd already slept, or it was time to sleep. Doesn't work for everyone but worked for me, nothing worse than upon landing than having to put your watch forward (or back) to local time. Never adjust your watch before take off, as you invariably head back to the terminal!
