Three Queens On The Mersey.
A good article in todays Liverpool Echo worth a read and a good video to have a look at.The artist for the painting is a local lad from the Wirral,I heard him on Radio Merseside this morning he wanted to show the difference in size of the first Cunard ship to leave Liverpool PS Britannia to the present Queens.I think he said the Britannia would fit into the dining room of one of the Queens.

Re: Three Queens On The Mersey.
I have sailed on Queen Mary2 on her Maiden Voyage January 2003 and again on her first trip around Cape Horn from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles, in 2006.
She is a Magnificent ship in everyway.
I sailed to Sydney on Queen Elizabeth two years ago. Not impressed at all.
Accommodation not as good as QM2, and they had eastern european crew, instead of the usual Filipino who are always good. They were ignorant, arrogant and unhygenic.several times saw them Sneezing and spraying, no cover up at all, all over the food in the Lido restaurant and into tea cups in the main Restaurant. They must be a lot cheaper to hire than Filipinos.
I got infected by the bad food and was confined to my cabin in Auckland as I was very sick and diarea*, So I never saw some of my mates who had come down to see us. They would not let me down the gangway. So I havent sailed with Cunard since.
Since Cunard flagged out to the Hamilton, Bermuda flag the standards have fallen.
So now I much preferr Holland America.
The old QE2 was always a very popular ship, same people on every year and it was good quality service.
Joe Anderson should Raise £50,000,000 off the celebs who made names for themselves in Liverpool and left when they made millions. and have her brought back to a permanent mooring opposite the Cunard Buldings at the Pier Head.
What a superb Tourist attraction it would be, and also provide a few hundred jobs.
Cheers
Brian.
