    Hi all,
New to site, I am looking for my father's war service but having no luck through the MNA. I know he was a survivor on the Napier Star, sunk dec 1940 and was aboard the Franconia at the Yalta Conference. New to research can anyone help as to find details. I have no other info.

    Hi Vernon,
My fathers full name was Alexander Davidson, born 29/10/1914 in Burghead. Regret I do not have any service details other than the two ships. As I stated I did try the MNA but it appears that Blue Line were not very good at their record keeping. Hope you can help or even point me in the right direction.
    Thanks again.

    Alex
Try Bluestarontheweb.org {think that's the correct address}. It has lots of details on Blue Star Line ships lost in WW2

Hi Alex, Welcome, I see you came from Burghead, my late uncle by marriage, Colin Buchan lived there for many years before moving to Findhorn. He was a MN man years ago, Electrian by trade, did you know him? Marian

    Hi Marian,
Seem to remember a Colin Buchan that stayed in Dunbar Street, not sure if that was him, if it was he was a nice guy.

    Hi Des,
I have looked at the site, it was U100, I can get a list of the people drowned, but only a mention of the officer on the lifeboat, no other survivors. The main problem seems to be a lack of records from Blue Star Line. Will keep on searching and very grateful for all the suggestions.
    Thanks.
