    Hi Ron,

I was on the Br Dragoon. Slightly later than your time though. I joined her in Oct 81 1st trip galley boy. Stayed with BP for 8 years before foriegn flag ownership etc forced me into North sea dive & supply work for a further 4 years. Had some good times on the Dragoon doing North West Europe trading. Got logged first day on board for neglecting to come back from ashore in Hamburg. Cracking start to my career with BP. LOL, Rose to the dizzy heights of Chief cook so got there eventually.

    Regards

    Hi Ron
Welcome to the site. I don't think there were many of us who were not sick on our first trip, Still we were at sea in the best of times. I was on seven BP tankers four trips on one of them the British Guardian, but twelve months on the British Builder finished me in 56, I went on the coasters for a few trips, then went on the NZi coast.
    Cheers Des

    Default Br Dragoon

Hi Ron, I was on the Br Dragoon on her maiden voyage, joined her at the ship yard next to Hawthorn Leslies, I forget the name. I was on her for six months we offically opened the Oil Terminal at Jebbel Dahana in a sand storm.
I also went to Llandarcy 'John Nicholsons' school for wayward stewards, later to become cooks, I never looked back after that and owe a lot to the chance that John gave me.

    Default Hi Ron

Looking at the list of ships you was on I see you did a trip on the British Robin
I also did a trip from Aug to Sept 1963 (only two months) aboard this ship.
Its good to know of others who sailed on the ones you were on in the past
    helps bring back memorys.
