Re: Busy Time Ahead
Must be the season of DIY, didn't realize so many of us were into it. must be therapy to keep active as much as we can. the long haired one and I took advantage of the black Friday sales to pick up 40 cases of laminate last sunday. home depot loaded them by fork lift, so the truck was a we bit nose high for the trip home. a neighbour across the road helped us put them in the basement to keep them out of the elements until we need them, rather than store them in the garage. replacing carpets in three rooms and a small hallway, which is scheduled for early January. putting them in the basement was quite easy, bringing them back up is going to be a chore. anyway it will keep the dust down when finished.
regards, stan

#12, Hi Stan, you've got a lot a lot of work of you but it's worth it, carpets harbour dust mites and are easy to clean, as
you say it keeps you active but I think I might be a bit inactive after I'm done,
cheers JC

#17, Well at least it's behind you now Doc and you can rest on your laurels as they say, my delivery came at 15:45 I've
stowed it in the utility room as it won't be there long "hopefully"
, I've moved the furniture and I'll take up the existing
floor tomorrow, I laid the floor 15 years ago but I'm sure it will all be good under the boards, I've got some decorating to
do as well and I'm hoping to have it done for Christmas. cheers JC

I am very cautious on ladders nowadays as my balance is a bit iffy at times, and that's "before a beer"
do you remember
Rod Hull "Emu" He was watching a football match and went up to his roof to adjust his TV aerial fell off and was killed he was only 63, very sad, cheers. JC

Re: Busy Time Ahead
There are two ways to do things, get someone in, pay a fortune and find it is not waht you wanted, or DIY which is what I prefer.
When I built this house some 23 years ago I did all the outside paving about 200 square meters, wheeled in 72 ,meters of top soil and set the gardens. Now her indoors says it all need repainting etc. Have got through the etc bit and some of the painting but as I explained I am not a machine so it takes time.
As to ladders, have fallen off three now, the last only two weeks ago but age and experience has taught me how to fall with the minimum of damage.
Roof on the outside entertainment area has to come off in new year and be realigned as a bit of water is getting in, not difficult.
Then I will no doubt find that something else needs attention, it just never ends.

Happy daze John in Oz.
