You were right about the sea training school it was in the west dock I went there in 1956

I was in the Cardiff sea training school in early 1965, if this is the same one as your dad attended. It was at the top end of the old West dock and was accessed from Collingdon road as you came over the canal bridge.
There were two buildings in the compound ours and Reardon Smiths. If this is the one your dad attended let me know and i can give you some more details about the place.

Was your instructor called MR COWARD ? if so he was still at the school in 65, he lived in Penarth.

My father in law went to this school probably around 61-63. I am trying to trace his seagoing records, discharge book andd ships he sailed on. I know that he did 2 trips both from the Cardiff pool, & 1 def to Australia.
Could anyone be able to tell me if u could still get a copy of the discharge book & would I be able to get a Copy of the ships logs that he sailed on.
