Re: Ship Trace,
Jim
I don't know if this may help at all!
Anyway I got Copies of my Ships Crew lists from Canada, that of course lists also the names of the Ships dates etc !
I don't know if they will hold Crew list for Dominion Monarch !
But you could give it a try and Email then to ask!
Cheers
Ordering Copies of Crew Agreements (Crew Lists)
To place an order for copies of crew agreements from the Maritime History Archive's collection simply send the following information to mha@mun.ca.*
•Vessel Name
•Official Number (if known)
•Years to be copied. (Crew agreements are filed by the year in which the voyage terminated in a British port).
•Indicate whether you want the entire agreement copied or just the particular pages where an individual's name appears.
•Indicate whether you want the agreements photocopied or scanned.
•If you want photocopies indicate whether you want them mailed to you by air or surface mail (air mail only to the UK and Australia).
•Scanned images are sent by email. Each image is scanned as a 72 dpi jpeg with dimensions averaging 1500 pixels x 2000 pixels. The average size of the image is 250 kb.
•Please include your name and full mailing address.
Once we receive your order, we will provide you with a quote for the cost of the search, photocopies or scans, and shipping. Our fees are based on a search of two years of crew agreements for one vessel (or two vessels for one year). Crew agreements and official logbooks can contain anywhere from 4 to 20 plus pages per voyage.
Retrieval and processing fees
•$40.00 (CAD) per hour (one hour minimum charge)
Photocopying
•$0.50 per page for photocopies (includes printouts from databases)
Digitized copies
•$2.50 per scanned page - crew agreement pages 11" x 17" or less
•$5.00 per scanned page - crew agreement pages greater than 11" x 17"
Shipping and handling charges
•See our Schedule of Fees for details
Only Visa or MasterCard can be used to make payments. Please note that Visa Debit is not accepted at this time. Once you have been advised of the cost by the MHA staff, please proceed to the Online Payment page to make a payment.

Re: Ship Trace,
Well Jim, if Tony has the correct ship, the official logbook for 'BEACONSTREET' official number 149865 for the year 1945, which will include the crew agreement, is held at Kew in piece BT 381/3425. Obtaining the agreement will hopefully give your brother's previous ship and you work back using that approach. The only problem for you is the cost of each of the agreements and then the movement cards for each as well.
Regards
Hugh

Re: Ship Trace,
Jim, I just gave the link for your information only. I wouldn't advise you to obtain the agreement via that link unless you have plenty of money. The Kew research service is very unwieldy, not customer friendly and very expensive. Bear in mind you will have to get all of the agreements not just one.
Regards
Hugh

Hi Jim
You can only View Free at the NA in Kew! Not Online! Sorry if I confused you on that !
The Link gives you the Ship in Question and that in turn will give the Crew list for that date!
Cheers

Re: Ship Trace,
Now you have me confused Jim LOL!
Where are you entering that Ship Number!
As I have given a Link it shows that Ship Number on a few pages,of course with various Years!
The one Hugh gave is the exact Year you want!??
The Pic here shows where I entered that Number, the same as Hugh!
Cheers
