    No there was no motor, it really doesn't show well, but there are two handles, one each side, the inboard one is still in place. I guess they could have passed down a line and hauled it up with the capstans or warping drum. According to the records in the archives, the wires were only 540 feet long, and 8" circumference, I guess that was long enough to pay out to a tug's towing wire.

    Sorry I will not be on board the Queen Mary again this year, we are joining our next ship in Fort Lauderdale for the Pacific trip.
    Maybe next time. We love it on the Mary lovely ship and always very interesting.
    Maybe we should all have a Meet Up on her one day. It is half way from Australia and the UK ideal for a weeks holiday.
