    Default Need a little help

    HI All.
I have my brothers service records, Royden Beynon Jenkins Discharge book R 307636 and in one part under medals it states [ Medals [a] C/46 and c/47 ] and Medals [b] c/46 is there any indication that these Medals were picked up.
    Thanks for any help.
    Cheers Des

. I am not really sure on this but it may be possible that those numbers refer to the year they were obtained

    That is c/46 etc meaning 1946 /47 ???
But this is just a thought,i am sure that Hugh will se this and reply with correct answer.
Sorry i can't be more positive on this
    Cheers

possibly it may be ab idea to write ri Kew and ask them if the Medals have beeb claimed at all?
    Again just a thought.
You will have to give them the details and reference number of the Medal listing.

According to official records your brother was issued and received the following: 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, France & Germany Star with Atlantic Star Clasp and 1939-1945 War Medal, but this was issued without the ribbon.

A cross (×) drawn through a symbol indicates the issue of that medal; a circle (O) drawn through a symbol indicates that only the ribbon for that medal has been issued. If a cross and a circle have been used then both a medal and a ribbon have been issued.

The medals awarded are indicated by:

    1939: 1939-1945 Star
    AT: Atlantic Star
    AF: Africa Star
    PA: Pacific Star
    BU: Burma Star
    FR: France and Germany Star
    WM: War Medal
    IT: Italy Star
    CL: Clasp
    OLE: Oak Leaf

    Hi Deep Sea.
Sorry I'm so late in answering, I was having all kinds of trouble with my computer my son has now fixed me up with another one. I had forgotten I had posted this. Thanks for that answer I can now tell my younger brother that they were picked up. Thanks Vernon for your reply as well.
    Cheers Des
