I joined Blue Star Line as an Engineer Cadet in February 1968 and soon found myself on the Australia run, first on the Ulster Star and later on the Adelaide Star. On one of these trips I was introduced to the important topic of refrigeration by an inspiring Chief Fridge Engineer named Jim Rendall, and learned much from him.
I'm now staying on and off in Orkney, where Rendall is both a placename and a family name. I don't have my Discharge Book to hand just now but I'd be very interested if anyone here has any records of a BSL voyage to Australia with a Rendall and a Raynor in the Engineering department.

Thanks for reading.
