Re: back !! hello all.
Hi JJ
Not a very pleasant experience at all, i must say, however at least you are safe and seemingly well.
Glad that you could save that Box with your Papers , as i know about loss of these, which i had the unfortunate experience of many Years back. Thankful though i did manage to get Copies (Be they Paper ones) of my Dischare Book with all entries etc. Also my ID Card in same form.
Also my RAF Discharge Book, but that too got Paper Copies of from, Innsworth RAF.
So now back, hope that your stay here will be a long and enjoyable one !
Just for interest JJ

Re: back !! hello all.
#4 hi May have asked you 4 years ago ? But are you any relation to the Jenkins who was a Barrier Reef Pilot in his latter years or was it Des Jenkins I asked ? Think you are too old to be his son, Des certainly is. However may be otherwise family connected ? Cheers JS

Hi John.
Not me mate I was on the wheel
enjoying the views.
I have been off for a few days, ran out of steam for the computer, had to wait for my son to top up the oil tank.

Re: back !! hello all.
Must be the old rod and chain Des ? Not the Telemotor ? Then.!! JS
3 principles among the scores of others in shipboard life…….
1..Telemotor “ water is not Compressible “
2. Barometer ..” air has weight and asserts pressure “
3. Rod and Chain ..” muscles are mightier than the pen or sword”.

HI John.
Something rod and chain does for you build your muscles, the ones on your arms.

Re: back !! hello all.
Having experienced a major quake in Christchurch I understand how lucky you were to get all your papers out in time.

Happy daze John in Oz.
