European Gateway
Hi was looking to see if anyone was on the gateway at the time it crashed in 1982. We are trying to find out if our daddy was crew member at same time.

Re: European Gateway
Hello Claire, Welcome to the site. Have as yet been unable to locate the crew list for the ''Gateway'' but will come back to you shortly on that. May need your dad's full name and dob.....
The links below shows the aftermath and interviews.

Re: European Gateway
Hi Claire, May take a while before most members on here read your request so I spoke to Hugh here on site regarding crew lists for ferries - he replied. 'After 1972 only two 10% samples of Agreements and Crew Lists held by TNA Kew and by the National Maritime Museum have been preserved. The rest of the Agreements and Crew Lists, up to 1989, have been destroyed. The Registry of Shipping and Seamen now the Maritime and Coastguard Agency hold all Agreements and Crew Lists from 1999.' He doubt's you will find an official crew list, though you may 'find an unofficial one from somewhere'. If you do locate any MN members who survived as in your initial post it may be be the only way forward. Only other option I can think of is either contacting P&O direct - [history section if they have one] long shot or a N.I. Mariners's museum
