    Hi Keith,

These are the correct details for my grandmother and her parents. Just for fun I've attached a picture of Maude Ida Foster(White), & Polly Davis Cocks (Foster). Unfortunately I don't have a picture of Maud's Father.. One of my cousins has the only picture but I'm not sure she is willing to share.

Last night I did a huge search of the GRO data base for any Whites born to a mother with the last name of Foster from 1888- 1905. I've found no males with the name James and only one Female with the name Beatrice..
I've tried to cross reference the records with what's available on Family search and Ancestry.

The Christening record that's been mentioned here I believe I found the Birth record on GRO BUT the mother's last name was Kenna not Foster.
And for Beatrice The mother's last name was Foster but when I look at census records that match with the birthdate for Beatrice the parents first names are wrong.

I've ordered PDF copies from GRO anyway.. just to see.

I ended up staring at my laptop with disgusted frustration LOL

    Debbie

Thanks Debbie, helps a lot, found much last night including the photos above,
From his wedding certificate it confirms his occupation as fireman, have you
any ideas of what he did for a living in Canada? Firefighter etc? or the term fireman
could be to do with sea service.

    Keith.

If i remember correctly the term fireman meant that he stoked the fires... He did work on the Trillium Ferry in Toronto. I think he also worked in a mine somewhere in Ontario, Canada. I think at the time of his marriage he was working at Grace Hospital in Toronto as a Fireman. I'd have to confirm that all with my mom. But I'm 99% sure I'm correct.

Touch wood we will find more, have got a lot now as a base.
I do not feel the birth mothers are correctly named, once
more is found, we can move on more with the correct information.

    Keith.

1901 census shows, living at Fulham, London. Aged 10 Maude Ida Foster, father: Walter Leonard Foster, no mention of a wife, ties in with the earlier death of Polly. All takes time but touch wood will get to more of James White soon.

    Regards Keith.

    Hi Marion,
I've emailed my cousin and even sent her some pictures that I have. I think she is hesitant because our parents stopped talking years ago. I'm hoping that my extending an olive branch by sending some pictures I have will help her to decide to send me the one picture I really want. She doesn't have an ancestry account.

    Hi Keith,

I've got a lot of information on the Foster side of the family going back a few generations. Polly, died in 1898 and Walter Leonard died in 1903. I have Polly's Funeral card that my grandmother saved. My grandmother, Maud, came to Canada in 1922 she was sponsored by her brother Ernest Leonard Foster after he was sent to Canada as a British Home Child. I have all these records on my Ancestry account, Debbie Sargeant MacNutt (Sargeant-MacNutt (Rosen) Family Tree)Funeral card Pillie Davis Foster Cocks.jpg
