Thank you for reading, I知 looking for photos on behalf of my Dad John Kenneth (Kenny) Williamson from Shetland. he sailed on a few Salveson ships starting at 16 years old. He was on the Salvena, Saldura and the Salmena from about 1962 to 1964 approximately. Does anyone have any photos of my dad during that time they could share, fingers crossed and forever hopeful.

Your dad didn’t at one time live in the Falklands did he Diane , just that Salvesens match up with. Can’t remember the name or what offshore vessel was on at the moment, it had one individual who after the Falklands war settled in Lerwick , was the chief Viking one year whatever they call them again, for the ritual held annually there. Don’t think he was there in SML of Aberdeen very long so must have found work elsewhere perhaps locally. Just as usual a long shot. If he didn’t live in the Falklands at one time is a miss by a mile. I am talking sometime in the 1980s.

Hi Diane. Just picked up your post this morning. I was on Saldura in 1963 and then Salmela through 1964. I did sail with someone from Shetland called Williamson but I remember him as Larry, maybe a nick name. If you can give me some more detail, what job he held down etc, I maybe able to determine if it was the same person. I wish you well in your search.

Hi Diane. Just picked up your post. I was with Salvesen around the same time you have mentioned. I was on Saldura and Salmela. The only Williamson from Shetland I remember was Larry. Could we be talking about the same person? I hope so as I am sure I have a couple of photos tucked away somewhere.
