Re: Arthur 'Jack' Sweeney
The main file you need is his CRS 10 - service record from Jan, 1941 - it should be held at Kew in piece BT 382/1750
The file I have linked to above is a seaman's pouch - which usually holds his documents such as id card requests, discharge book requests - if you are lucky an id photo as well.

Hugh

Re: Arthur 'Jack' Sweeney
Hi Keith
Yes that is him. It was a £10 passage out, and working his way back in 1955.
Thanks

Re: Arthur 'Jack' Sweeney
Many Thanks Keith and Hugh
I have just got back from the national archive. It was indeed my dad, and he seems to have been on a lot of ships betwen 1938-46. Now just working through where he went. It also had a picture of him age 17.
Thanks again
