MV Oxfordshire 08/02 – 16/06/1973
Hi John
I've just been reading through the list of ships you sailed on and noticed you were on the Oxfordshire 08/02/73 to 16/06/73. That was my first trip to sea as a very young and inexperienced deck cadet. I still have several photos taken on the trip though none unfortunately of the people.
I believe the Capt was M Nisbet ? Were you the purser ?
Regards
Kevan

Hello J Rose,
A warm welcome from the sunny island of El Hierro. Enjoy the site,
I was on the Esso Windsor with you, and I think you were the Cook.

Wonderful Days
Hi Alan.
So nice to hear from you, was'nt it a long time ago, and all those wonderful ships now gone.
Remeber the night in the Celler Bars so well and then off to Shelias flat, have often wondered how on earth I drove there, but at least had some sence to stay overnight.
Supprised to hear you are still in Bristol thought with the end of British Shipping all the positions connected went also.
Good Luck and more another day.

John
Sheila & I married 1974 and I left Bibby's in 1975 to take up a lecturing post at Brunel College. So settled in Bristol ever since and never regreted it. Near retirement now but will hang on as long as I enjoy it. Nice to see so many guys on here that remember you.
Best Wishes
Alan

This is incredible!
I have been in contact with John via Skype, after 48 years and I would still have recognised him. We are hoping to meet in the Autumn.
