Greetings from the Northern Frontier (Hadrians Wall)
Yo all just stumbled across this wonderful site, started my seagoing career in 1970 with Sugar Line as a Junior engineer staying with the company till made redundant as the fleet was sold off in 1979. Then into the oil/gas industry, North Sea/Med/Caspian till 1999 when again made redundant. From 1999 till retirement with Serco Denholm latterly Serco Marine till being made redundant and retirement aged 63 in 2012.

Re: Greetings from the Northern Frontier (Hadrians Wall)
Stewart Welcome, you sound as though you may have found a way of survival through redundancy payments, hope they were a bit better than the Lyles one was it through the BSF, may have seen you through for a couple of weeks. The others sound as may have been private through the Companies you worked for, so hope they were a bit more substantial. Suppose you can relax now and lay back on the OAP through the NHI scheme. Do you live in the Haltwhistle area. Cheers John S

Stewart stay long enough and you wii find out the lunatics are well in charge of the asylum. But the fact remains you will never find a better bunch of lunatics anywhere. Stay, serve the drinks in your white coat and enjoy.

Happy daze John in Oz.
