Talking Hi There, Have just joined the site

    Evening all,

Just posting this to say hi. I am a newly qualified 3/E working for Gulfmark on an anchor handler and if i'd be so lucky i'd love to pick everyone's brains on machinery to even how to dress appropriately in 80% humidity!

Hi Adam, welcome to site as no doubts there will be others doing the same. Re you query suggest you take the sweat rag off before going into the messroom. No doubt if rig shifting you will be spending a lot of time in ER with the second, as the chief will probably be otherwise engaged either working the big winch, or the Towing winch as required. Also on your various cargos apart from deck cargo and containers, the pumping up of Cement, Barytes, and others including oil based mud. If I assume the Anchor Handler is one of your first vessels at sea, you have a good one for the heavy work load that type of vessel can bring. You will have certainly not been spoilt as some of us were on a more sedentary life style in our younger days. I would imagine you can expect fast promotion in your chosen career, all the best and will be interesting to hear how you get on. Cheers John S.

#3.... Adam would be interesting to know what part of the world you are working in, also how many and what nationality of crew, Flag etc. of your vessel. Cheers John S.
