Martin Masur
Hello,
I am new to this site and not sure if anyone could possible develop any information regarding my Grandfather, Martin Masur. He was a German merchant sailor who met my Grandmother in South Shields, Durham England. They were married in 1913 and I believe that he continued to serve as a merchant sailor out of South Shields until WWI broke out and being a German he was in trouble with the Crown. Somehow he immigrated to the USA in 1916. I know nothing about this period in his life. He was born in Memel Germany in 1870.

Re: Martin Masur
Rob, can you imagine a description like that nowadays... Race.. White. There would be screams from the PC brigade. Also some of the others would be infringing on human rights. How times have changed.JS
