Have just joined this site.
Joined the Merchant Navy as Junior Assistant Purser at the age of 18 with Booth Line on the RMS Hubert, with them for two years until the ship was transferred to Australasia Line. Captain Was Commodore Jackson Whayman, and the Purser was Alfie Boyce.
Then to Cunard Lines for a year as Assistant Purser on the Queen Elizabeth, a stint with Thos & Jos Harrison as Cargo Purser, Shaw Savill on the Northern Star; New Westminster City, Maria Elisa, Tacoma City and Victoria City of Reardon Smith and Castleton, Cadwallader and Casterbridge of GATX Oswego.
Went ashore in 1976 as Port Catering Superintendent in Egypt for London Drilling Company, also in Saudi Arabia and Sudan with GrandMet Site Services and Taylorplan.
Back to the UK as Chief Purser of the Corbiere of Channel Island Ferries from 1984 to 1988.
To Kuwait as Director of Operations, Bayan Palace with Kuwait Hotel Company, then with them as General Manager Safir Nile Cruises in Egypt, Luxor and Aswan and General Manager Safir Hotel Hurghada.
Then from 1997 to 2003 as General Manager of resorts in Jamaica and St. Lucia. Finaly Back to Kuwait from May 2004 until I retired in January 2012 as General Manager Failaka Heritage Village.
Looking forward to meeting and greeting old friends.
