    Default Hi,

My great uncle Donald (Dan) Tarrel was boatswain of the SS Baron Dechmont and lost at sea when she was torpedoed in 1943. I have pictures of both he and Master Donald MacCalllum, captain of the Dechmont and will post them when I figure out how and where to. Captain MacCallum was taken POW on Harro Schacht's U-boat 507 and perished when she was sunk days later with all hands. I gratefully received his picture from his only grandchild,Frederick Donald tosh of Glasgow Scotland. regards,Tom

    Tony,

This posting on the Baron Dechmont is the exact same copy as a genuine previous post by our member Donald (Dan) Tarrel, which leads me to believe this so called new member "rhinerc" maybe a spammer especially when you take into account the location and the fact you had to delete their signature.

Could be wrong..... but then again

Thank you ,gentlemen , for the actions that you have taken to protect the integrity of the site and it's postings. I wonder what motivates these people? I never, ever wondered what motivated the three of my family who died at sea in WW2 and the one in WW1,integrity,honour ,love of country ,protection of family, loyalty, national service, and a job that just had to be done!!!!
