    Default Trying to trace my father in laws, service number and medals.

    Hello my name Is Dawn Wood and my Father In Law was in the Merchant Navy between 1942 (at the earliest) to 1972. His name was Frederick Charles Thomas Wood (R305291) is this his service number?? Also I am trying to trace what Medals he received during his time in the MN. Can anyone point me in the right direction.xx

    The R305291 number is what is know as the Dis A No or discharge No He appears to have a seamans pouch, which may or may not have details of his service these can sometime be a bit hit and miss but worth obtaning
