I agree with your description of the kiwi coast girls. We used to meet up with a lot of the same girls every trip or recommend them to our mates if we missed a trip. It was comical leaving Wellington one trip, the passengers having their streamers to the quay while my girlfriends tied lots of tights together and anchored them to a bollard on the quay & we tied them to the handrail. Ours stretched about 200 yards before breaking, was a nice sight and a bit moving as they played " Now is the Hour" on the tannoy on the ship which was the Rangitiki, lovely memories......

Once you realised that we where all after the one thing and that was a bloody good time with out comitments and I am glad that I was around when it was going on. I am sure that there where as many girls woke up thinking how the hell did I end up with him as some morning we would wake up and contemplate whether to gnaw ones arm of so that you did not wake her up before you shot through. What parties we had in the mess. Not always ending up with the one you started of with and not knowing if you would be together the next night. Those days are the nightmares a lot of you have now when you see your grandkids heading out for a good night out. When ever they talk about the swinging sixties we all know how good it was. So can not think of any reason for anyone to knock what we had unless they where involved within a homo trangle or practicing to become a priest.
Us males spend the first 9 months of our lives trying to get out of it?? And the rest of our lives trying to get back into it?? Oxford Dictionary..........A Prick.........A Head With No Brains/ An Eye That Cant See/ And Hangs Around With A Right Pair Of Nuts......

    Thanks for that Ted.
My goodness what was I up to when I was a lad, what an unbelievable place it is now, I think it was a little more refined 60 years ago.Only six to a room then. and no aids on the scene. I guess we were lucky.
It is amazing that it has developed the way it has. and to think that India has more Millionaires and billionaires than Britain and people still live in those conditions.
    Thanks for the memory.
    Cheers
    Brian.
