who knew Captain Oswald Tucker
Hi i am the granddaughter of the late Captain Oswald Tucker he passed in October of 2010 and we are trying to put names to faces and find out what our granddad did at sea, as far as we know he sailed on the Benledi, Benvrackie and the Benalder, we have come across many photos of him on ships with lots of people but he never told the stories behind them. He sailed from 1934 to 1975, we would be very grateful to any one that has any information about him.

Thank you
Thank you for the link, unfortunately it is a little confusing as their were two Captain Oswald Tuckers, and the one on the link wasn't him but was still very interesting, i really enjoy reading about the sea life and all the great people that sailed on the magnificent Ben line ships. : )

Captain Oswald Tucker - Benledi
Hi Sarah
Sorry to hear that Captain Tucker passed away.
When I joined my first ship the Benledi in West India Docks London in August 1969, Captain Tucker was the Master. I completed three deep-sea trips to the Far East on the Benledi in 1969-70 and Captain Tucker was the master on two of these trips. I have recently acquired copies of the Crew Lists and Official Logs for these trips and would be happy to pass on any information if you are interested.

Hi Willie,
Also sorry to hear about Capt Tucker. I was 2nd R/O on Benledi - first two trips to sea, April 69. I would be really interested in your crew lists if still
available
Cheers
