Finding Grandad's info for Mum
Hello, my Mum is trying to locate any information about her Father's ship. He was on the Indefatigable from - we believe 1939 (or thereabouts) to 1944/46. His name was John Harold Fenton. Mum has no information about her Dad and would love to know if anyone can help. Hoping to hear if anyone can help. Thank you

Are you refering to HMS Indefatigable or the Training Ship Indefatigable
"Across the seas where the great waves grow, there are no fields for the poppies to grow, but its a place where Seamen sleep, died for their country, for you and for peace" (Billy McGee 2011)

HMS Indefatigable was laid down in 1939 but not commissionesd until 1942 , it lasted until 1956 , and was a Implacable class Aircraft carrier , So I have doubts that he would have been there from 1939 .TS Indefatagable was at the time either a training hulk or at Ruthin in Wales , so I do not see him being there either for that period .
Do you have a date of Birth or a place , there are several on Ancestry , some are Harold , John , a little more information is really needed to be of help .
