Today I am very proud to say that I have been a Member of Sea Shepherd for Three years in the hope that we could stop the Japanese Whaling Fleet Killing the most beautiful sea Creatures in existance (The Whales) The Japanese Whaling Fleet have now given up and are returning to Japan a month early because our Sea hepherd ships prevented them from Whaling . Our three vessels achieved what Govts couldnt. Captain Paul Watson and Captain Corneilson and all the mighty volunteers who sailed on these Sea Shepherd ships in very Dangerous Circumstances have indeed done a fabulous Job, the Whales of Antarctica have won. I was in the Antarctic, season before last. there were many whales around then, coming up from Deception Island to Elephant Island. They would have made an easy target if a Catcher was around. They are a fantastic sight leaping about.Magnificent beasts. They deserve preserving after all the years of slaughter.

Was the late and very great Steve Irwin associated to them somehow? I'm sure I've heard his name regarding stopping the whaling. Is there a boat called the Steve Irwin?

Hello Brian, Yes sea shepherd can be located on Google and then you can get the Sea Shepherd Organisation in your Country by pressing Sea Shepherd Australia for instance, i dont mind saying that when we sent the Japanese Whaling fleet out of Antarctica this time there were absolute tears of Joy, for a bunch of old retired ex Merchant men from all different countrys we were so very proud to know that Sea Shepherd succeeded the Japanese govt have even Stated we are too determined as a Group and they were frightened of us and our will to defend the Whales.. Sea shepherd is a Wonderful group that carry,s out its Purpose, I sincerely thank you for your postings I realy do. With all the Bad news happening in the World today we are proud to say the Whales are safe while we are in existance. Glenn

Hello Jacqueline, Yes one of our Ships is named the Steve Irwin because of his love of Animal life in australia, this ship has a crew of forty, Our second ship is named the Bob Barker after a Radio Broadcaster that bought this ship for us she also carries a crew of forty, All are volunteers from the Cooks to the Engine room crowd and to all who man our Fast Sea Boats, which are swung over by derrick and sent to harrass the Japanese fleet. while the two main ships Steve Irwin and Bob Barker chase the fleet and prevent them fire-ing any Harpoons and also prevent the Factory ship from recieving any whales. I thank you for your interest as we dont get much Publicity its too hard to get maximum coverage when you are doing the right thing. Sea Shepherd are always looking for new crews each year Engine Deck or Catering. my very best to you Glenn
