Edinburgh Castle 1973

I did four voyages aboard RMS Edinburgh Castle in 1973 and enjoyed every minute of it.

Voyages 169, 170,171 and 172 from Southampton to South Africa and back.

Stupidly missed the ship in Port Elizabeth on the way home because a few beers told me that I
''wanted to see my own ship sail'' from the hillside overlooking the harbour. (Also met a woman)

I rejoined her a few days later, after flying to Cape Town. Lost my sought after Deckmans job
and had to leave her in Southampton on New Years Eve 1973, otherwise I would have gone
with her to the scrap yard.

Very Happy Days.

Two weeks later the company flew me back to South Africa to join my next ship.

A Man after my own Heart mate!
I found that UCL to me was very good indeed,and enjoyed all the trips with them,first one being the last trip of the old Dunnottar Castle from Cape Town,and that was a very memorable one indeed! Then on to the Winchester,Sterling,Warwick and all were to me very good! Happy Days indeed!
