ther are plenty of others. the burma road was the working alleyway for the catering staff on some liners. it went from a couple of decks below the bridge to the laundry which was at the stern.
this was all on one level to allow the carrying of laundry, both dirty and clean, beer, empty and full.it was a very busy place at six am. on UCL it was also used to store empty barrels and crates.
the real madhouse at mealtimes was the kitchen and pantry plus of course the platehouse. alf

Catering ??
Now Alf and others,are we talking of Catering only or other terms as well!

Alf what a remender of those bleedin Beer and Linen Carries.it was a killer that time of the Morning! Used to get 2 full cases to carry at once,Oh the back haha! Those Linen Bags reminded me of the old Kit Bags too,but a lot larger!
