Salt water and lithium ion don't mix and the chemical reaction between them will cause the battery to catch fire, so think twice before laying out your cash on an electric car if you live near the coast.

Ive just bought a Gopher John. I was told to keep it on charge all the time not in use. The batterys are apparently dearer than a car battery ? Dont think I will take it on the beach though, havent yet summoned up courage to use yet . I always assumed that they were only used by those unable to walk and dont want to appear a fraud. However they say pride comes before a fall , so have told the wife she has to come with me for company, it is a two seater . D day will be sometime this week , the beer stocks are getting low, maybe better to do the first trip solo. JS

Thought a Gopher was something that burrowed Holes! LOL

Joking though , but i have a Three wheeled Golf Buggy, uses Two Gel Batteries which are the safest around can be stored upside down and can take any amount of bumps hard wearing and lasts ages! Also expensive but well worth the cash!

I have two Chargers that i keep going 24/7 so the batteries are always in Top shape when needed, they cannot over charge! There is a cutout on the Chargers!

Will be handy in my future Years as well, can then use it as a Mobility Scooter! Lets hope it wont come to that though!
    Cheers

Jeez Vernon, if John's goffer is like that he wont be able to carry enough bottles home to last him the weekend, he will have to teach his wife to drive; then he will have someone Goffer the drinks.

My wife’s a better driver than me Des , I never expected her to lose hers just yet. However will have to as said go out without her as she will be taken up valuable cargo space. Also we are in the nearly permanent summer zone so stability and draft wise should just about make it. JS

The sheriff got one over a year ago and has never used it so has sat in the shed and never had a charger connected so from reading your posts it looks like I had better get my finger out of my anus and get up there and charge the bugger up as I think I might get some use out of it because I only really go to the shops and taking the car it does not even heat up before I get there so not doing that much good either so short trips might be best with the gofer hey
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.
