    Default Renewable damage

Heer in Oz as is the case with many countries we are moving from what are lovingly known as 'Fossil Fuels' to what we now call renewable energy.
An odd term as all energy man produces is renewable be it from coal fired or wind/solar.

Sadly here in Oz we are failing to learn from the mistakes of other countries in our head long rush to convert to solar/wind power.

We have an abundance of both coal and gas but rather than use here we export it for others to use.

Today an expert, and I was once told that an expert is a guess in a tuxedo, came out with some home truths, not going well with some senior polis.

His claim, it is not possible to rely just on wind and solar they are inconsistent in supply.
The national grid was designed to take power from coal fired power stations, not solar and wind farms.
For the system to work in the correct manner there must be a back up source of power such as nuclear, not just batteries.

But the killer blow was in the price.
To bring Oz to a complete renewable source of power including renewing the grid will cos the nation somewhere in the region of $500 billion by 2050 to comply with the govs wish of total renewable energy by then.

With such costs one would expect the price of power to increase just a little, by 20% by years end and by just 30% next year.

Candles, open cooking fires and hurricane lamps are beginning to look attractive.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Shell gross profit for the quarter ending June 30, 2022 was $29.696B, a 79.4% increase year-over-year.
Shell gross profit for the twelve months ending June 30, 2022 was $89.199B, a 61.48% increase year-over-year.

Why are governments having to subsidise home owners this winter? That is just Shell what about BP,Exxon.

    Latest news from Germany.
Theye are to remove one wind farm to allow for more coal mining to ensure there is enough power.
Upset the 'Green' lot but who cares as long as they have power when needed.

The majority of the oil companies' profits re made abroad.
The windfall tax should be made on the UK Energy producers.
Some of the big company's state that " They are green and their electricity is generated by renewable sources" but, OFFGEM allows them to charge the same prices per KWHR as that produced by GAs Powered Stations. To me that is wrong.
Over 50% of the UK electricity is generated by renewable sources. but the consumer is overcharged as the price of electricity is based on the cost of producing electricity by gas.

Looking at the past, with global warming it is a prelude to an ice age, with an ice age comes frozen ice covered land and seas at the polar extremities which will extend to northern europe and the antipodes, with frozen windmills, inactive wave generators will they then start the hunt for fossil fuels as an alternative source of power

Claims the not pole is melting away.
But scientists in NZ said last year the ice shelf at the south is wider, thicker and bigger than ever recorded.
Claims the floods here are from climate change, but way back in 1896 te peak level on the Murray river was some 98 meters above sea level, this year only reached 96.5.

Did ask a "greeny' a few weeks ago what the climate was changing to, he could not answer or explain.
    Some one must know????

Still can not get it hey John? That in decades to come those that hopefully are still around would love to be able to have candles and open cooking fires with hurricane lamps. The alternative could be that no one is around anymore because of the selfish attitude of us in this century especially from us old farts with rusted on old views. My only positive view is that I am glad that our generation and the next where not around last century otherwise we would still be paddling around in bark boats and using candles to light our way along with open fires to cook with.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Well Les the latest from ' those who claim to know' is that it is now too late to do any good.

The Greta the wonder woman of climate change made the following statement about the up coming global meeting of all heads.

'This is only green washing by a bunch if liars'.
Mae she may be closer to the truth there than we like.

But I do agree we have not been the best keepers of the planet
