The new monument in Grantham isn't the first to be erected in Britain in memory of the Iron Lady, but it is the 'first' to be erected outside where it might be in danger of vandalism.
One must remember whilst thousands of people liked her, thousands also hated her.

    Regards from
    Fouro.

#11.. Des with a name like Charles they should be happy , although don’t know about the Bonny bit, but there again it was only a fallacy about the original one , it was said he was as ugly as sin. Cheers JS

I think we should go for independence for the Isle of Wight, and let all you over seas folk squabble about what is left, lol.

'This sceptered Isle set in a jeweled sea.'
Thus quoted Shakespear in the Merchant of Venice
Referring to the UK i think, not just England.

United we stand, divided we fall was the cry.

For what purpose would such a challenge provide then one must ask?

There is strength in numbers and with global conditions such is not the time to consider such a change

AS to the situation in Irerland.
I know have relis there that the further south you go the less likelyhood it will ever occur, it is only a few in the North that push for it.
But for it to happen it will be from the will of the people not the polis that determine it.

The letter must have been one of the last things she ever did or near enough, so for my memoirs if I had any would be that I was one of the of the last to speak to her as PM, but that is untrue as the female voice being broadcast all over the North Sea was her secretary who must have thought she was on a land line. I hope she didn’t do the same during the Falklands war and put the invasion forces she sent merrily on their way and compromise the whole operation . Cheers JS......ps did you know an engineer in Seaforth called Bill Jameson as his namesake I met the other day. However the one I remember his father had a pub in Stonehaven.Cheers JS
Hi John. The only Bill Jameson I can recall was ex R.N. Had a large tattoo on his back of King Billy, courtesy of a p*ss up in Singapore.

If he was in Seaforths May of been the same one , although never saw his back ! He was a fairly hefty bloke though just can’t remember if it was in Seaforths or one of the stand by company’s I sailed with. The RN bit could well fit in though . JS

The question being posed by many now is how will the monarchy go with Charlie boy?
I think if he stood aside for William that would be a good thing for the nation, commonwealth and the monarchy.
    Charles is not that popular,
