Best remedy Marian is to repeat the old childhood piece “ sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never harm me “. Most threats are made by people who can’t or don’t have the intelligence to state their views any other way, and should be left alone to converse with similar like minded people . The best and only thing to do with most is just to ignore. Every storm blows itself out , storms move on the same as people. When violence is offered then a straight jacket becomes the weapon of choice and its area of dumping being usually Coventry. There is nothing more degrading to most than being found out as just a mouth , and nothing worse to being out of reach of a listening audience and approving audience. We all to a certain degree like to be approved of, but not the extent that some take it. I”ll fill the syringes for you if necessary . Cheers JS

I was involved on the outside with the Cameo Cinema Murders in Liverpool , two men shot dead in the Office.,
In March 1949, My brother was accused first but he was away on a ship to Japan, I was beaten up by the Detective when the door was smashed down in a Police raid.
Two other men were accused and set up by a Bent Detective. one George Kelly was Hanged protesting his innocence., Charles Connolly did Ten Years in Wakefield.
In 1956 I met a man in Melbourne who claimed he did the murders and Got Away With It.
,years later his sister wrote to me confirming this.
I met and became friends with Charles Connolly, and with the Author George Skelly and a Liverpool Business man, Lou Santangeli , we eventually appealed in the Criminal Court of Appeal in London with a lot of accumulated evidence. The Court found both men Innocent,
Unfortunately., George Kelly was dead by hanging and Charles had dropped dead with a heart attack in ASDA Stores in Liverpool six years earlier/..
It is all in the Book, "CAMEO CONSPYRACY" by George Skelly.

But today with new methods of detection It would be easier to get the right person to Hang/

    Yes Victoria
Most all South Africans carry a Firearm, it unfortunately is a necessary evil .
Never used to be that way Years ago.
My dear Sister , Nephew and Niece all have Sidearms , its horrible i know but thats life there nowdays!

At night before they go to bed, all Sidearms are stored under the Pillow, what a way to go to bed!

I saw this first hand when i last went on Holiday there, quite scary i must say , however mostly during the day things are not at all bad. Its just after dark that things seem to pick up, and one has to be very vigilant .

PS Just to put it correct its Afrikaans LOL

Gees, Vernon, if I went to bed with a gun under my pillow I end up being called No Ears, how would I hold up my stetson.

Marion, injections cost money, a length of rope can be purchased from Bunnings and can be used more than once.
But if you need a syringe for the injection I am sure there will be a local drug addict who can give you a used one.

I always think that the word guns when referring to firearms is always a misconception to a lot of people if that was asked me on a quiz show what is guns , I would say it is a short abbreviation for gonorrhea , and not bothered about others blushes. That was the term that most seamen referred it to. What is guns short for to others give us no sweets or what ? Cheers JS

That was like Paddy giving evidence at an inquest into the death of his friend Mick.
The coroner asks Paddy could you explain why you said in your statement that Mick died from a sexually transmitted disease. Mick fell from the 10th floor on a building site to his death!!!

Dat's as maybe your honour but as he passed me on the way down he shouted at me Paddy I'm a gonnorer here.

    I'll get me coat

When and from where did “guns” become slang for biceps?

Interesting it is historically a baseball reference linked to fighters/boxing and the arm as a weapon. The bicep is also a well defined muscle and typical body builders move to flex and show size and definition. So a show-off might show his “guns”, like a show-off gangster might brandish a weapon.
