Re: Get rid of your old boiler
Cappy, back in July within three weeks I had to fit a new hot water service and heating unit.
That is up in the roof space with the hot water service outside.
Both had done 27 years service so not so bad.
Gas bill is substantially lower as new ones more efficient.

Re: Get rid of your old boiler
Our Gas Heater ( Brevis EMS ) in Roof was installed in 1998 and has been good , but recently have had Error Messages Got someone last week to look at it, and he said that the Low Module is faulty, but they dont make them any longer! Great!
Anyway it still works and gets to Temp as before, only intermittent little Ring now and then which says Service, but keeps going.
So the Guy said to just use it till it really stops! Wonder how long that will be .
New one will cost about $2600 plus install of $500.
But one can source a refurbished Low Module at two places so looking at that option at the price of $400. My Son In Law can fit it.
Cheers

Re: Get rid of your old boiler
#11 I was going to say no one has had the temerity to mention their better half when talking about their old boiler but went back to have a look , Keith see you have had the nerve to mention in the third person. To be on the safe side I will refer to mine as a dainty teapot. Just in case she gets the chance to look in on some of these posts. I hope you have your excuses all ready and off pat. JS

Re: Get rid of your old boiler
Think the traditional trouble and strife / her indoors are still popular.
Boiler is used more as in bunny boiler derived from the 1987 film
Fatal Attraction. This way dragon or old dragon is common.
But Cariad works best in Wales.

Cappy, once again you have hit the nail on the head, do you play darts by any chance, looks as if you have a good eye.
