Donald Trump’s infantile tantrum over Greenland could have serious diplomatic
consequences.

Greenland is a semi-autonomous Danish territory, and when told of the news about Trump, Denmark's prime minister, Mette Frederiksen, called the idea "absurd". "Thankfully, the time where you buy and sell other countries and populations is over,” she added. “Let's leave it there. Jokes aside, we will, of course, love to have an even closer strategic relationship with the United States."

Sounds reasonable. So how did the President of the United States, the leader of the free world, the commander-in-chief of the US Armed Forces respond? By cancelling his trip to Denmark.

As daft as it may sound there is good reason for the attempt to buy it.

Large deposit of Coal, Zink and many other natural resources lie the.
It would give greater control over seas that China could be involved in, and would give USA greater access to waterways in that region.

There are many who consider Trump to be a bit of a fool, he is anything but, he has a sound mind when it comes to business opportunities despite the fact he has been bankrupt on occasions.
His trade war with China will come to an end, though in the long term, 15 to 20 years China will prevail.

While many think his ideas are bad there are many who consider him to be the best thing for many years.

On the last cruise there were some 250 USA citizens on board, we spoke with dozens of them, all said the same.
Trump is the best.
We may not agree but many do.

Thats very true Vic, other presidents have tried to buy Greenland, he's just the first one to throw a tantrum, and cancel a state visit, don't know what others think, but its a bit childish. The Americans may think he's the best, but to the rest of the world he's a joke, just think what *spitting image* could do ?, bring back spitting image would be a winner. kt

Just watched a news clip on CBC, Trump now refers to himself as the "chosen one" to take on China. Jeezus, he will be calling himself "God" soon, what a complete berk.
