LOL Well JFC I have not heard this saying for ages

(“cock a deaf’n”) in fact in South Africa many Years back it was used all the time we said "cock a deffie" and meant just ignore!

As for Tinnitus well don't talk mate as I have had it in my Left Ear for some 35 Years now,at first nearly drove me mad,and I am sure was some cause of my Drinking (My excuse in those days LOL) but have managed to get used the 24/7 ringing now and it sort of sits in the background, that is during the day ,but at nights that's when it again raises its nasty head! I seem to fall asleep ok but during the night I am sure it wakes me up at various times!

I had spent a lot of Money on various things but to no avail,and have learnt that there is NO CURE!

Unfortunately an affliction besides my Deafness and bad Eyesight these days!
Isnt it wonderful to get old !! Grrrr!

Hi Doc, yeah that saying's been around for donkey years and had the same meaning here ,RE: hearing probs,
we are both in the same boat, my inner ears were damaged when our house was bombed 1944 and have deteriorated throughout my life, the only sound I hear now is tinnitus both ears 24 /7, I agree with you, if
you let it get on top of you it would drive you crazy, I've managed it by keeping myself occupied but can
get on a short fuse at times, I've had it for far too long to let it bother me at my stage of life, cheers. JFC

I began to suffer with Tinitus after a fall hitting the back of my head on the ground. Thankfully no damage to the head or the ground.
Some days it is fine, others very loud, but as you so rightly say Vernon there is no cure.

But after a couple of bottles of wine on a Saturday night I do nor care so much about it.

I also suffer with it in my left ear after a bad fall a couple of years ago and now have a constant buzzing in my right ear, but the worse thing was i also broke two fingers which required surgery, as you get older you don't bounce like you used to, until then my hearing was A1. Rgds Den

Keep fit, eat well and sensibly and you should be OK.
But for those on site with hearing problems could any answer please be in upper case!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
