Re: Dave Allen, comedian
Hi Chris.
You can always watch them again on DVD. Last night I got the Dave Allen one from my son, my wife and I were in tears, especially the sketch of the two funeral's where only the first one for the day went to heaven, and the race was on, I had sore ribs, I forgot that when both coffins reached the graveyard they were to late, there was a burial already in progress .

Re: Dave Allen, comedian
We watch many of them on U Tube on the smart TV.
It is amazing just how much there is there with no holds barred von the language.
But did hear today that the Radio Times, does that still exist, in UK has listed the top twenty comedy shows of all times on both TV and radio.
Would be good if one of you if you can find it would post it on site for all to see and no doubt comment on.

Re: Dave Allen, comedian
Thanks for that John, few on there I had long forgotten.
But I agree with most of the results, the 'Fork Handles' was certainly one of the best and dear old victor,' I do not believe it".

Re: Dave Allen, comedian
I have the entire set of Victor Meldrew, Only Fools and Fawlty Towers on DVD. My American wife loves them despite us have many differing (and agreeing) views on what is good tv.
I hadn't even heard of some of the shows in that list.

Re: Dave Allen, comedian
We had two American "comedians" on stage during my world cruise, useless,
did not understand anything he was burbling about, didnt even raise a smile. sat there for an hour,
He shouts at the end, Any Questions,??
I shouted, "What time is the Comedian coming on".
He walked off the stage, the Americans booed me. they will laugh at anything.

Re: Dave Allen, comedian
The Americans do not have a strangle hold on poor comedy. Here in the u.k. we have plenty of rubbish comedians who for some unknown reason get there own shows on t.v. the two that spring to mind are Alan partridge and Ricky Gervais, both of whose shows if watching them is akin to having teeth pulled.
