According to our news here, the usual fake news, he was not wearing seat belt in the new Land Rover, not the old one, and on the estate which is private land.
Here in Oz if on private land the law does not apply, how is it in UK?

The Duke of Edinburgh was warned by police after being spotted driving without a seat belt after crashing his car earlier in the week at Sandringham.

According to Britain's Press Association, the photographs showed Philip wearing dark glasses and no seat belt near Queen Elizabeth II's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, eastern England.

It seems to me that in the UK we loved it kick at the establishment no matter what they have done anywhere else a 97 year-old x World War II naval officer still driving his car would be praised and if he has suffered some kind of injury from the previous accident it's obvious that he is legally not wearing his seatbelt you don't need to bypass the beeper all you need to do is plug the belting and sit on it no matter whether it's royalty or the hierarchy we just love helping them on the way down it would be really nice if we could all say something positive for a change

Prince Philip apologises to woman injured in car crash

In his letter published by the Sunday Mirror and dated 21 January, the duke said that he was “very sorry” for his part in the accident, and wished Fairweather “a speedy recovery from a very distressing experience”.

Apparently, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh will not be prosecuted over
Sandringham collision that left two women injured.

“We have decided that it would not be in the public interest to prosecute".

    So that is that.

Did you ever think they would, even in a case of death, think Princess Diana.

But why should he or any one else be prosecuted for what was just a road accident, the sort that happen every day!

But cutting down the tall Poppy is something we love to do here in Oz, sometimes without reason.

We also have men and women of a similar generation still driving.
Under Australian law you cannot discriminate on age, gender, religion and a few other bits.
There are politicians who do far worse every day who are not even looked at by the authorities.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
