Ship found in Arctic 168 years after doomed Northwest Passage attempt, Still available on more 4 catchup T.V.

The long-lost ship of British polar explorer Sir John Franklin, HMS Terror, has been found in pristine condition at the bottom of an Arctic bay, researchers have said, in a discovery that challenges the accepted history behind one of polar exploration’s deepest mysteries.
HMS Terror and Franklin’s flagship, HMS Erebus, were abandoned in heavy sea ice far to the north of the eventual wreck site in 1848, during the Royal Navy explorer’s doomed attempt to complete the Northwest Passage.

All 129 men on the Franklin expedition died, in the worst disaster to hit Britain’s Royal Navy in its long history of polar exploration. Search parties continued to look for the ships for 11 years after they disappeared, but found no trace, and the fate of the missing men remained an enigma that tantalised generations of historians, archaeologists and adventurers.
Now that mystery seems to have been solved by a combination of intrepid exploration – and an improbable tip from an Inuk crewmember.
On Sunday, a team from the charitable Arctic Research Foundation manoeuvred a small, remotely operated vehicle through an open hatch and into the ship to capture stunning images that give insight into life aboard the vessel close to 170 years ago. Highly recommended Terry.

Will take a look at that Ted, i am at present reading a book on HMS Erubus, fascinating story. I remember watching a program where they found some to the dead, buried in ice, and perfectly preserved, they had had post modems carried out on them before burial, and speculated it was lead poisoning from tinned food, a relatively new process, but now believe many of them died from botulism, where they were unable to heat the food to destroy the botulism. love these programs, kt

After working many years in the food industry you learn that some of the bacteria are so dangerous the bacteria Clostrodidium Botulimus produces a neuro toxin a little bit like nerve gas and we found the greatest source of it was when milk bottles will left in the yard and the starlings came down the Peck at the lids the beats were riddled with it meaning that we had to take Sam anti starling measures .
Realising how dangerous it is it amazes me that people volunteer and in fact demand botox injections personally I think to inject order want to have injected the poison into your body Verges on the insane
