If you have a guest in your home and your neighbours are outside protesting about him. what will you do.??
Go outside and join the protest against your own guest or defend him.?
will someone give an Intelligent answer??????? or
obviously Capt you would defend your guest ,which is why only a small amount of people are protesting compared to the population, they didn't protest against the Turkish guy who is worse or Mugabe etc . because they only hate Americans as does Corbyn Khan & co. A plastic pig with Khans face on would probably would get a knockback. The BBC are giving big coverage to this protest , but on Saturday you have another march ,freedom of speech is denied by Media as it has a reporting ban on it yet there will be thousand on this march ,it is a free Tommy Robinson march who was jailed for speaking out against the rape gangs from Rotherham and other British city's and the injustice that British people are taking from the establishment or left bending luvvies ,I think the bill for policing is going to include the policing of the free Tommy march .when the London mayor was asked about a flying Trump .he said its ok.but he is probably part of the decision to put a blanket news coverage on free Tommy Robinson. so yes you are right to respect our closest friends Capt Kong

Re: Trumps visit.
I am neither a trump Nor a Tommy Robinson fan , but I am still a Sam all free speech and democracy . I also probably controversially now think that people who were terrorists that have formed the government of a country will always be suspect from Mugabe upwards because when you look at the history of India Gandhi only ever asked to peaceful protest and they still got what they wanted in the end . To my mind swap the gun and the mob for a political role does not work so when you have prominent politicians who welcome terrorists I'm afraid it leaves a bad taste in my mouth . The protesters seem to be howling about immigration which pre the referendum we were demanding here they seem to be crying about human rights and we trade freely with Saudi Arabia who totally ignore human rights , the protesters Yale about trump banning people from countries with high levels of terrorism while we moan about letting terrorists in back from there Tour of Duty with Isis I think if we actually sat down and honestly truthfully look at what we did including our complacency about the torture that we shared with the CIA we aren't that far away from the policies of Donald Trump

Re: Trumps visit.
Well following the goings on today with one particular individual on the forum !!! he is either ill or just someone who likes to cause trouble. I joined the group to enjoy talking about life and times at sea. Well sadly it would seem this is not were I need to be. I was asked for my Discharge book number!!! not seen my book in over 20 years but R 8783914 seems to ring a bell. To those who seem to be decent folk and genuinely interested in all things ships thanks.

Pressed like button by a very big mistake. Now that post really shows your true colours. It's a very good job I can hold my tongue. The
Poison Dwarf a gentleman thats a laugh maybe he could be if he did'nt suffer "Little Man Syndrome".You cannot see what a nasty little person he was or the woman from over the border because you are of the same ilk.Strange when you are not on this site I never have an argument with anybody, and it is pleasant to note of new posters some who have been on the site for many years have posted but most probably avoid posting because of people like you sniping all the time.

In reply to post 145 samuels, can't the moderators get the message ,that certain members get fed up with the bickering that takes place and the damage it does .Threats from them seem to be ignored,I bet it costs the site many genuine contributors who in the end lose patience and leave, why so few spoil it for the rest of us.

Re: Trumps visit.
Well said Dave unfortunately it seems that variance from a line of opinion is not tolerated . And the personal sniping I find really hard to take when you're referring to Ivan he was the one of Monsters that was invited to represent the Merchant Navy at a garden party with Her Majesty last month so obviously we all have different opinions on his status but I think personal attacks are so sad by all means attack me for my opinion on unionism I've been a member of several unions and now I'm a retired member of usdaw , attacked me for my politics I'm a social democrat so I don't fit into any current political party , attacked me for my views on homophobia and feminism add racial equality to that mix and my views and not always the same as everybody else but I'll take that we have to accept that we're all different but when you start on personal attacks words like poisoned dwarf and little man syndrome I'm afraid that I find that very very sad and very hard to take . After the last little spat I found another site not SN to go and have my sojourn . I hope that some of you will read back across this thread and be ashamed of yourselves . To be disagreeable over politics and religion it's fine but to be disagreeable over someone's personality or physical characteristics is heartbreaking this silly is the sort of thing that we did as a school child and I would hope that we've all grown out of it by now , and if someone defends themselves what do we hear moderator please come and sort it out well I regard that as a self confession of a lost cause because the fire will die if you don't fuel it , to be perfectly honest sending private messages I think absolutely stirs the pot but when I have received some from people unless it's been from site moderation I don't even open them I' bin them . But there is a point when I'm sure a lot of this stems from the heart of banter but turns from banter to spitefulness . Read back on the thread then go forward and walk in peace
