Hello Des
Just a snippet from me to let you know that in a Weeks time my Son In Law will be joining 6 other Motor Cycle Riders ,as they are going down to Cooma ,staying at the Alpine Hotel,then taking off on the Sunday for a 6 Hour Round trip around the Snowy Mts! Sounds like a blast,wish I was still able to do that!
I am not too sure as to all the stops but will try and find out,
I am sure they will really enjoy! Eespecially as he has the new Triumph Sports!

We came over the Snowies in a Camper van. from Albury Wodonga, Looking for Mount Kosciusko, couldnt see it, we were on it, on this track the port wheels were hanging over the edge of a few hundred foot drop and the starboard side of the van was scraping along the wall of the mountain. we could not stop or turn around.
Anne turned white and could not speak for a change.
The Scenery is fantastic.
We eventually dropped down to Cooma and into a caravan site, The Boss said, "No one has ever come over that way before, it is only used to herd sheep or cattle over, " he was amazed that we had made it over,
No traffic that way. beautiful scenery,

Doc, thanks for the video. That looks fun some great looking roads there and scenery. Great throaty roar coming out of those trumpets lol, that Arrows exhaust system is about £750 quids worth. Good to see the lads were obviously sticking to national speed limits ummmmmm!!!!! lol.

john when i was working the grapes in oz three of us bought a vincent 1000of a hungarian......we were 14 or so miles from the nearest bar ......we all took turns driving it ...the hard time was sitting on the back..we all fell of in various times ..got a good bruising etc ......but it was a good laugh i was led to believe the bike was a blak shadow ..but not sure ...the hungarian was smuggled out of hungary after the hungarian revolution for chucking molotov caktails at russian tanks .....ah our youthful days ........cappy

#6 funny that John, must be a thing Dads have with sons. My lad suggested he was going to get a motor bike, only the once though, I told him if he did I would break his legs for him just to save him the trouble of doing it himself.

I wish I could pack biking in. I can't it is a disease.
They are as safe as houses, it is the idiots who ride them are the danger, also cagers who more often than not come out with the same old excuse , sorry I did not see you mate

Most powerful motor cycle I have ever owned was a Z1000SX Kawasaki that was capable of 153 mph which like an Idiot I had up to on more than one accession GPS gave the speed at that the clock was telling me 164mph(private roads !!!!) 0 to 60 mph 3.2seconds, keeping the front wheel down is the problem. Even my current bike is capable of just shy of 140mph. Thankfully my hooligan days are behind. Aging bikers have a saying the older I get the faster I was.
I can still mix it with the young guns if need be.
Bikes today are far to powerful. The bikes in the video clip are Kawasaki H2R's you can walk into a shop and buy one of those straight out off the box , they are capable of an estimated 280 mph these bikes are not street legal£47,000. You can buy the street legal version for £25,000 even they top out at 206 mph. Sorry but only a suicide pilot would ride one of those to the limit.

###aye lewis but that was 1958 ,,,,,we sold for about 25 quid .....it did go a bit though...on them orange dusty things that went for roads then in oz......no coppers within about 60 or70 miles never saw one .....and in them days would have gone for the run ....cappy
