    Default women curling olympics

Just watching the English women team trying to win a bronze medal, something i did not know, every curling stone being used in the olympics comes from Ailsa Craig in Scotland. The sole rights to mine the stone is held by one company, and is known as the best in the world, kt

They are shouting instructions to the sweepers - all part of the proceedings.

A little bit like when Celtic won the European cup they were the first British team to win it but when Manchester Utd won it they were the first English team to win it.
Ailsa Craig or as the Irish would say Paddies Milestone. I remember as a Kid we were going over on the ferry Irish Coast and the ship did a round turn right around the Island, The ferry used to berth at Ardrossan I think it was.th.jpgAilsa Craig from Girvan .jpg23673396.jpg Similar rock formation to the Gaints Causeway.

Mining is now restricted on Ailsa Craig, the company last mined in 2013 and have enough stone to last until 2020.
