always enjoy watching the Edinburgh tattoo, also the royal tattoo from Wembley, although I see that the royal signals motorcycle team will no longer be preforming, pity. love the royal navy gun carriage race...... Just spent last Saturday at our local highland games gathering, been going now for 34 yrs.20 bands, male and female heavyweight events, children's games. weather was great, lots of good friendships made and renewed, good beer and food. what more can you ask for.
    regards, stan

It's the Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo, why would they have mention of the Merchant Navy? I myself have sailed under three Ensigns, firstly the Red,
then the Blue and back to the Red, until I came ashore and very quickly joined the Royal Naval Reserve, sailing under the White Ensign, a feat I am proud of.

Why should I not be proud of my service under the White Ensign?? I was equally proud of my service under the other two, I have a veterans Badge for both services have to say my Merchant navy Veterans Badge is much prettier. do you have a veterans badge? I think not!!
