Mariners Court Hotel
Well I only found out after staying at the Mariners Court Hotel Wooloomooloo Sydney NSW for the umpteenth time that it was in fact the old Sailors Home way back!
Should have rung a Bell with the name !
I have looked but as yet cannot find any old Pics or write-ups about it,so hopefully some of you older hands may recall this place, must be some who used it in the past??
Its now a very nice Hotel, and as said I stay there quite often,as its near most all things one needs when on a break!
Is there anyone out there who may have an old Pic of the place as it was in the 1950's or earlier!
Cheers

Re: Mariners Court Hotel
Hi Vernon,
I have been to Woolloomooloo several times but don't recall seeing it.
I used to go in the Tilbury and the Bells pubs, maybe that is why I never saw it.
about 8 years ago the boss of the Bells was killed by one of his customers .
The old pier is now all apartments now, we tied up there on the GEORGIC with £10 Poms and loaded 3,000 2RAR for the Malaya war in 1955.
That movie star Russell Crowe has the far end apartment on the pier. You should have told him you knew me and he would have let you stay there.
I have searched on google but cannot find the old place, but it does look a very nice hotel.
it is 200 metres from the pier so that is why I never saw it. too busy in the TILBURY.
Cheers
Brian

Re: Mariners Court Hotel
Hi Capt
You must have been three sheets under the Weather mate as the Tilbury Hotel is about 20 meters away,i often go there for some Grub!
There is another near there as well also used by many old Seaman now as well.(Frisco Hotel)
The Wharf is a lovely place as well.with many places to go and dine, they have made a fantastic job of it!
The new Apartments are so costly though you will not get one under $1.5 Million now and that's the bottom end!

Yes John it is not too far from the Quay one can walk would take about 30min walk but there is a 311 Bus very close by which will take you there!
Good rates now but must Book early as he fills up very fast!
Contact the Hotel and address the Email to Craig or Donna and tell them Vernon recommended !
