As the time limit for publication is drawing to the end of its Silence Period a few have now been published, one of which is entitled, " Her fears over united Germany", in the International Express.
Margaret Thatcher feared the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe in 1989 would lead to a resurgent Germany dominating the continent.
Her deep misgivings over the reunification of Germany are laid bare in the newly released government files. She had to be cajoled by aides into issuing a congratulatory statement after the fall of the Berlin wall in Nov. 1989, marking the end of the cold war.
The files show her concerns ran so deep she even had to be coaxed into making a positive statement during a photocall with the West German Ambassador on the eve of reunification in 1990.
The key is to get in the words friend ally and partner ( if you can bear it ) Charles Powell her private secretary , pleaded in a note. Otherwise a message risks being judged negatively.
Her hostility caused alarm bells to ring in Washington, Bob Blackwill, a senior US official told a UK diplomat, President George Bush believed she even wanted an "entente cordiale"with the Soviet Union as a counter to a united Germany.

Another extract same date and paper.
Maggie blocked Falklands Talks.
Argentina made a thinly veiled bid to take control of the Falklands Islands-5 year after Britain repelled its invasion. Files reveal how secret attempts were made to open up talks about the Islands Sovereignty. But London headed off the overtures after Mrs Thatcher said she and the families of those who died in the 1982 conflict would recoil from it. sic sic sic and finishes Mrs. T responds in a note I utterly recoil from this, and so I would think would the relatives of all those who lost their lives in the Falklands. Argentina has not announced a cessation of hostilities.
