I.D. required when voting
There is to be introduced here in the U.K. next year's local elections, the requirement to show personal I.D. before you allowed to cast your vote. This is to prevent election fraud as has happened recently in Birmingham and London, especially amongst those of a certain religion. My question is how on earth can those letter box ladies even obtain an I.D. document as any I.D. has to show a full face not just an eye slit. Indeed how do they even get any sort of services that require an I.D.?
Can you imagine the extra work that will be needed to set up dedicated polling stations and booths solely for the use of those letter box ladies?
We all know fraud in many forms is most likely going on amongst their communities so perhaps a ban on the letter box garb is required.

Re: I.D. required when voting
Perhaps they should stamp the back of their hands with indelible ink like they do in their countries of origin to stop them voting numerous times, as no man must gaze upon their face and all letter boxes look the same

Re: I.D. required when voting
In the Election of 2005, I went to my voting in the local school hall.
I was in a queue of people from the Khyber regions. The only Englishman there.
In front of me, a ta, lib, an, dressed person pulled out his white Voting card and gave it to the lady at the desk.
She says , `This card has been voted on`, he fumbles under his Shufti and produces another white card, she says `This card has also been voted on,` so he has another go, fumbling under his shufti again he finds another, third card, She then says `This is OK` and then gives him his voting slip.
I said , `It is like Karachi in here`.
She says `Are you racist? ` I said `Yes, when some people have three votes and I only have one`. she was not happy.
That is why, all my Town Councillors are from the Khyber regions and my MP is also from Pa kist an.
So where is my democracy????????
Is America going to bomb Boltonistan to bring us Democracy?? I hope so.
So a FOOL PROOF Way of Identity check would be welcome. ALSO, STOP, the Block votes from the mo,sk,s,
They get them all to give their voting cards in there, and use all the postal votes and then vote in one their own.
It is all BENT AND CORRUPT.
I have no Representation at all in the Town Hall or Parliament.
Es salaam, u alakum.

Re: I.D. required when voting
It's bullsh.., they must have to show their face in airports, going into the bank etc, so if they object, no vote. So the codswallop that no man must see their face. If I recall correctly, there was a big fiasco where a school letter box person , who was a classroom helper, tried to come to work in the veil, and was suspended, it turned out she was interviewed for the job with no veil. We caused the problem when we allowed seiks to ride motorbikes without helmets. Small chink and they are in like Flynn, kt

Re: I.D. required when voting
A few years ago Pete and I had our finger prints taken when we arrived at Heathrow. They said it was a trial. Don't know what happened to that.
This year we were finger-printed leaving India for Bhutan. It wasn't an ink job (in either of the cases ) just on a plastic pad that read our prints. I suppose they matched it against known criminals. Would that be so difficult here ? It would mean a finger pad in every Poll Station - so maybe not. Also, someone would have to check prints against records.
I hope that we don't go down the 'Everyone has to carry an ID'route, as in France and many other countries. Passports and Driving Licences are not owned by everyone. A few years ago I had to prove my identity and a Utility Bill was useless as it only prints the name of the first Householder. Had to resort to the Bank Statement - which is a worse infringement of liberty. Someone has to come up with s/thing a lot better.

Brenda

Re: I.D. required when voting
Young Kinnock was thinking on TV las night about the proposed ID when casting a vote. He stated "sledge hammer to crack a nut, he didn't believe it was a problem, and would hit the labour vote".
I have often thought when voting that their should be additional checks to ensure system not abused.

Quote.................and would hit the labour vote". Kinnock..
It sure would, as it is their Voters like my neighbours from "overseas" that do the vote rigging and get Labour MPs from "overseas" into Parliament.
It happens every time and if you complain you are accused of being Racist.
