Re: european song contest
A question without notice.
If your Dave is so sure he would win and that the Eu is such a good deal why is he going to so much trouble to try and make you stay?

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: european song contest
From John Callon above
Brian why do Brussels want to take over Norway's oil and gas industry when it is in virtual freefall
That just shows how stupid and out of touch with reality Brussels is. But it would have given many many very well paid jobs to Beurocrats in Brussels.
Cheers
Brian.

Re: european song contest
I was thinking about that Eurovision contest.
That song that won from Ukraine , was a Political song against a fellow nation contestant.
That should Not have been allowed, they should have been disqualified for it.
What next? anti British songs, IRA songs from the Irish contestants, German Army marching songs, Deutschland Uber Alles,
Is that the Europe our Pollies want us to stay in.
Get out of Eurovision and get out of europe.,
Brian
PS.
The forcible deportation of the Crimean Tatars from Crimea was ordered by Joseph Stalin as a form of collective punishment for alleged collaboration with the Nazi occupation regime in Taurida Subdistrict during 1942–1943
In November of 1989 Supreme Council of USSR recognized the deportation as a crime against humanity of the highest degree[5]. On the 21 April 2014 president of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree, that rehabilitated Crimean Tatars and other ethnicities, who suffered from Stalin repressions in Crimea
,............
So that song was about the deportation of Taters who were on the side of the Nazis.
later years it was all sorted out by Putin.
So who were the Bad guys, Russia or Germany? they were at war and War is Hell, said Patton, and why sing about it 72 years later.?

Re: european song contest
#23. Far be it for me to assume the mantle of Quotefinder General Kong, but the quote 'War is Hell' was uttered by General Sherman after the American Civil War. (His side won).

Re: european song contest
I know that Gilly , BUT, Hollywood does not,
It was also quoted by George C Scott as General Patten in the movie Patten,
As Hollywood knows everything all America believes it.
Cheers
