european song contest
I wasted a Saturday night last night to watch the European song contest
I forced myself to watch it to convince myself I am right to Vote `OUT`
What a load of rubbish
.
I see that UK stayed in its usual place near the bottom.
tho` if that was the best we could do then it was deserved.
Brian,,,,,,,who will never watch it again.

Re: european song contest
European Unity?????? a song about Russia invading Ukraine in 1944! the Balkan States definitely voted for that one. Australia competing in the Eurovision Song Contest? be careful Canberra, Merkel has ideas of expansion!
UK third from the bottom, which will eventually be our position if we remain within the EU
Watching Marr on Sunday, the BBC is certainly biased pro REMAIN

I agree with every single sentiment Ivan, plus it was televised in China for the first time- and they'll be competing next year just you see. Moreover, just like the Balkan and Russian orchestrated vote for the Ukraine, the Chinese will win,-probably by setting up compulsory mass-voting booths for its zillions of citizens. It will be called The ChinaEurovision Foregone Conclusion Contest.
I was confused at first because the members of the first time Australian group who came second appeared to have Oriental features(Prince Philip had a certain word for those features which I won't reiterate here, but we all know what).
I know I couldn't realistically expect to see a couple of rednecked leather faced,beer-bellied welly-wearing cork-dangling hatted bush blokes singing Waltzin' Matilda for Aussie, but surely someone like the Jason and Kylie of old would have been more typical rather than the equivalent Osmond clan from your local suburban Melbourne Chinese takeaway.
Do you think China and Oz have a pact..about something?Watch out,Oz.
Yes I'm cynical, but how sinister this world is becoming.
As regards the U.K. it feels like there's a shadow hanging over us,it's called Europe.
I know which way I'll be voting, but isn't it a pity that the majority of British people have no balls now,and proceed like lambs to the slaughter. They know what's coming, but haven't the sense to turn away from it and put up a fight.A British Remain is a foregone conclusion now...
Oh heck,here we go again.DOOMED.
As Kong says,I won't ever watch it again, well at least not till next time..

Re: european song contest
I sent Cameron another mail yesterday, asking will we still be head of the Coomonwealth or will the Queen be head of the Commonwealth or will Frau Merkel be the Head of the Commonwealth as we will be a small province of a Greater Germany. I still await an answer.
Cameron is terrified of losing the Vote as he will be out of a job,
His family home is rented out so he will be homeless if he has to leave Downing Street
So what will he do then. Jobless. Homeless, even a food bank,

Boris Johnson comes to MoneyWeek
Dear Reader,
One of our most important MoneyWeek issues of the year just hit the shelves… Boris Johnson, London’s departing mayor, is on the cover.
And within this issue, you’ll find a special interview with “ Boris”, by magazine editor-in-chief Merryn Somerset Webb.
In his typical off-the-cuff style, Boris took our questions on “Brexit”. He gave us the scoop from a political insider’s view – something we rarely get to hear.
The new London mayor, Sadiq Khan, is taking a more “pro-Europe” stance… so we’ll miss Boris’ frank stand against the political elite…
The OCED, US President Barack Obama, the IMF. They all sound eerily in tune with each other… and we don’t like what they’re selling.
Neither does Boris – here’s why, in his own words:
We know the euro has brought crushing economic misery, resentment and division to wide swathes of Europe.
And we also know very clearly how the EU wants to get out of the crisis – by the same old discredited methods of centralisation, with full economic, fiscal and political union of the eurozone. It is impervious to calls for a change of direction.
And on the murky accusation that Brexit would “hurt trade”, he simply pointed out something very simple…

Last week, MoneyWeek’s Merryn Somerset Webb sat down with Boris Johnson.

----------------------------------------------
That “Brexit” would not turn Britain into an outcast. In fact, the vast majority of rich countries in the world do just fine without being a part of the EU – or some other regional power. Take Australia:
It has just completed three trade agreements – with China, Japan and South Korea. Earlier this year, 12 countries around the Pacific Rim signed the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
The opportunities for agreement are there and a nimble, independent country that has reclaimed its seat at the World Trade Organisation has the best chance of doing the deals that are in our own interests.
In fact, sometimes, the more “isolated” you are, the better.
It worked for Singapore, which became independent of Malaysia in 1965 – and far outpaced it in terms of growth…
It worked for Hong Kong, which stayed clear of mainland China’s massive central planning for decades… allowing it to become a beacon of prosperity in the region.
Boris declined to jab members of his own party… even the ones who want to stay in the EU. Here’s what he said about the current conservative leader, David Cameron:
This is a referendum on Britain’s membership of the EU, not on the prime minister. He is at the head of a strong and successful Conservative government and a Conservative Party that, if we win the vote on 23 June, will unite behind him as the leader who will take charge of the negotiations for our amicable departure from the EU.
[Note: Speaking of political upheaval and island nations, our staff has been accused of “going too far” with this latest presentation. It begins with the death of a well-known political leader… But before you accuse us of “inciting violence”, take a look at this presentation for yourself.]
Whatever your political views… whether Boris is “your guy” or not… we agree with him on Brexit:
Get out while you still can!

Re: european song contest
In brief Boris said the EU wants a superstate just as Hitler did. This is what the Remain crowd say.Boris Johnson accused of "nasty game" by comparing EU to Hitler superstate plan.Fancy them accusing Boris of playing nasty games with some of the scaremongering that they are spouting out.
Regards.

Re: european song contest
German police said on Saturday they found a pig’s head bearing an “insulting inscription” outside Chancellor Angela Merkel’s constituency office in the country’s northeast.
A police patrol discovered the animal’s head outside the office in the Baltic sea town of Stralsund in the early hours of Saturday.
Angela Merkel is suddenly looking politically mortal
A spokesman for regional police refused to be drawn on the nature of the insults, saying only that they were directed at Merkel, who was first elected to parliament in Stralsund 26 years ago.
The conservative chancellor has been criticised by many Germans over her welcoming stance towards the migrants that have poured into Europe over the past year.
.
.
.PS.
There was a photo of Merkel on this article in the Guardian.
So I used a Black marker pen and painted a Hitler moustache on her, Spitting Image of Adolf.
Now I cannot remove the black mark from my screen. It was a permanent marker. I will have to get some Sand Paper to remove it.
Merkel`s revenge I guess.
Cheers
Brian
