Re: Ships Funnel.
There is a German feeder container ship company where the ships are named after German Bundersleague teams and are painted in those teams colors. They offer advertising apace on the accommodation sides and at one time they had roller blinds along the deck that you could buy advertising space on.

Re: Ships Funnel.
HI Vernon.
Post No #4 I wouldn't like to be given a job and finish painting that funnel, you would need to have ten bosun's chairs rigged. But a fascinating group of funnel's so different than in our days. I have an old print of 200 funnels and flags, but most are buff with black tops or red with black tops, some just black with different bands, I suppose in our days they were more functional, these day they have to be careful of the environment hence the odd designs

Re: Ships Funnel.
I think black tops in our day to hide som eof the crap left by the smoke. Modern ones rarely see smoke coming out of them, just a heat haze.

Re: Ships Funnel.
Hi John.
These days they use up all the spent energy; returning it down to the engines or heating systems, hence only a heat haze, and some ships even use that. I'm waiting for a different form of propulsion to come in, just think ships with no need of funnels. Unless Cappy's cooking; or Den is making tab nabs.
